The Forge Gallery

Available to hire for events, exhibitions and more, The Forge Gallery is a unique triple height space complete with industrial heritage and original features.

Situated on the ground floor and measuring 1000 square feet, it retains original, exposed brickwork, whilst the two-storey beech plywood construction offers 600 square feet of seating - perfect for audiences or additional display space.  Six large, south-west facing feature windows, coupled with huge skylights ensure ample natural light throughout the day.  We also have spotlights on adjustable rigs.

Venue hire includes:

  • a hanging system suitable for wall-mounted work
  • vitrines and plinths for free-standing work
  • full heating and ventilation
  • kitchen facilities and toilets within reach of the gallery
  • street parking (free after 17.30 weekdays and all weekend)

The gallery is available to hire for events and exhibitions. Daily rates start at £200 +VAT, with weekly rates starting at £300 +VAT.

Grade II listed, the building dates back to 1860 and the golden age of British shipbuilding. Retaining many original features such as ironwork, original cranes and chimneys, a sympathetic renovation has breathed life into the Forge once more. And what a building it is! It's awash with natural light and offers exceptional acoustics (we host classical music events here). You'll enjoy hosting from this magnificent space, with high specification facilities available.
