We’re looking for craftspeople from across our Network to come and take part in our popular market this summer. This selling event will take place on 29/30 June and will be a real celebration of the talent and creativity of our Network members. To compliment this we are also looking for other types of makers & producers to sell alongside you. These might be; honey, cheese, bread, beer & flowers. So if you know anyone that might be interested in taking part, please ask them to get in contact.
The Forge, Westferry Road, is a Grade II listed building set within a largely residential area on the Isle of Dogs in East London. The nearest shopping hubs are Greenwich and Canary Wharf. There is nothing like us in the surrounding areas and we have already become a real destination within the community through our public events programme of markets, exhibitions, and workshops for all to enjoy. It is a quiet area in the daytime during the week but comes to life in the evenings and weekends, hence the timings for the event.
Friday 28 June 9.30am - 4.30pm.
Saturday 29 June 8.30am-11.am
Summer Marker's Market Opening hours:
Saturday 29 June 11am - 6pm
Sunday 30 June 11am - 5pm
We will be offering exhibition spaces on the ground floor of the building: the exhibition gallery, available studios, and the workbenches which line the edges of the open plan area of The Forge. We will have tables, plinths and cabinets we can offer people as well as space only locations.
Previous Selling Events
Our 5 previous selling events have done well, with good even footfall on both days of the weekend; and makers reporting good sales and a great atmosphere.
As we are still building up our following in the new location, we are keen to keep our participation fee affordable and we are keeping the price at £80+VAT (£100 Inc. VAT) for members £100 +VAT (£120 inc VAT) for non-members.
Good to know:
The Forge is based close to the river and within easy access of Greenwich, Canary Wharf and Surrey Quays. It is a five-minute-walk from Mudchute station on the DLR and is outside the congestion zone. We have 10 parking spaces for the building but on surrounding roads parking is free on evenings and weekends. All of this will make set-up and pack down easier for you and will allow visitors to drive stress free to the show.
Craft Central will be promoting the Maker's Market through our database (29,000+), social media (37,000+) and through the media. We will invite some of our exhibiting Network members to have their work on our creative and social media campaigns to promote the event. These images could be used on flyers, posters, print advertising, and social media advertising and press coverage for the event.
