Join us at Craft Central for our Open Studios and Winter Market. Kick off your Christmas shopping and buy handcrafted gifts from our creative studios based at The Forge and our wider network of designer-makers! Come and meet our creative community for this seasonal event.
Take part in family-friendly drop-in workshops and visit our Japanese pop-up Café - Gu Choki Pan - for hot drinks and baked goods.
The Forge’s creative residents who will be opening and selling from their private studios to the public where they can learn about their practice and gain creative appreciation.
The Winter Market will feature work by makers selected from Craft Central’s network of designer-makers who will be selling from our impressive gallery space Products ranging from home accessories, fashion and jewellery to ceramics, stationery, prints, textiles and more will be on offer.
There is be affordable, family friendly, drop-in workshops; On Saturday, Georgia Bosson will be holding a block printing workshop. Print your own fabric or wrapping paper with stylish, bespoke, hand carved, printing blocks. On Sunday, studio holder, Soumya Thomas of Molu Designs, will be leading a letter painting workshop; paint a punchy initial onto a wooden coaster.
Take part in our workshops
There will be a drop-in, affordable, family-friendly workshop on both days. The workshops are suitable for 8 + and anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Children £5, adults £8.
Saturday 20 between 12.30pm to 3.30pm - Craft Central’s long term network member Georgia Bosson will be holding a “Block Print a Furoshiki Wrap” workshop. A festive workshop to make a unique block printed textile, which can be used to create a furoshiki wrap.
Sunday 21 between 1pm to 4pm - Studio holder, Molu Designs, will be leading a family-friendly lettering workshop to give letter-lovers a chance to paint a colourful, bold 3D letter onto a wooden coaster to take away with you!

SilPhi Glass - studio 223 - will be demonstrating bead making and glass blowing | CAFECRUZ°& Studio Kindred - studio 127- will be doing heat pressing vinyl onto garments | Raffin Jannet - studio 110 - will be offering a block printing demonstration | Zinaida Kazban (award-winning embroiderer pictured) - studio 205 - will be practising her embroidery on sheer organza | Sofia Ozakay Jewellery - studio 222 - will be showing how to wax carve for jewellery.
Nadia of TLZ Movement Clothes - studio 221 - will be giving free consultations for clothes alterations and repairs. Bring a garment to Nadia to discuss the possibilities | Sarangua (pictured)- studio 102 - is offering a bespoke machine embroidery service. Get something special personalised with a custom monogram or a sentimental message. Either bring something along or she will have a range of products for you to choose from to be customised.
