Introduction to Bespoke Perfume Blending
During this introductory perfume workshop you will learn about the basic structures and explore a variety of ingredients that are commonly used in perfumery. We’ll explore top, heart and base notes and their uses and also look at how they can be combined . As a group participant you will receive a kit containing a 20ml glass dropper bottle to tailor to your own preference along with a 7.5ml vial to decant into. You will also be working from your own formula booklet. It’s a fun way to put your own stamp on how you wear your very own bespoke scent.
*Important: Please be aware that we will be working with diluted ingredients, both naturals and synthetics, commonly used in perfumery and some contain allergens (many of which are naturally occurring in essential oils). There will be a declaration of these as part of the course introduction, if you have sensitive skin please take this into consideration and consult your doctor beforehand if unsure.
About Maya Njie
Self taught perfumer Maya Njie Perfumes has created a range of five gender neutral fragrances, all inspired by her Swedish and West African heritage. Past memories and her old family photographs play a big part in Maya’s inventiveness where she works in a multi sensory way, combining scent and colour pallets. This adds a perfect and distinctive parallel between our visual and olfactory senses. The tones are of a time, and the accords nostalgic, yet the end products are notably contemporary.
