SilPhi aka Silvia and Philip Crawford have been working with glass for 16 years. After attending several courses in flamework and basic glassblowing at the Glass School in Murano- Venice, between 2004-2006, they turned what was initially a hobby into a freelance enterprise in 2008. They are long-standing Craft Central studio holders having had a studio in both Clerkenwell and The Forge.
They design and hand-craft all of their individual pieces themselves and, influenced by our training in Murano, use Venetian glass rods. In addition to hand made glass beads which they use to create necklaces and bracelets, they also produce rings, earrings, lariats, chokers, pendants and, recently, cocktail sticks. They also use a mini blowpipe to create hollow sculptures, large beads or glass orbs. Their commissions or made-to-order pieces are an ideal solution for clients wanting to bestow a unique gift, wear something special for an event, complement an outfit, or just to spoil themselves.
