On Tuesday the 28th June, we welcomed year 5 of St Edmunds Primary School to Craft Central. We took them on small group tours around the building, visiting a selection of maker studios where they learnt about different crafts. They were introduced to; Zina Kazban, award winning embroider, Sofia Ozakay, ethical Jeweller, Gina Pipet, textile designer, Nadia Piechestein, sustainable fashion designer, Silvia and Philip Crawford Venetian glass jewellery specialist and Janine Koks, Saori weaver. The children had a fantastic time, one even proclaiming they wanted to work here. By opening our doors to local school children we aim to introduce the next generation to the possibility of being a designer-maker.
