Sadly furniture is increasingly dumped on the streets and ends its life on a landfill site. Rolls of fabric with a few meters remaining and left over frames that cannot be viably used in mass production also end up as waste, adding to the already burgeoning problem. Dismayed by the growing waste and inspired by its potential. We developed a new service for environmentally friendly consumers. Using your furniture or our existing stock, we give furniture a new lease of life.
Andrea Simonutti is an established upholsterer with 20 years experience covering both modern and traditional furniture. Patrizia Sottile is an architect specialized in interior and exhibition design. As the founders of Urban Upholstery, they seek to create a more responsible, interesting and aesthetically pleasing environment.
"We see upholstery as an art that allows us to interpret the potential in every day life" says Andrea "and we wanted to create a new line of furniture that improves people lives and their relationship with the environment".
Andrea's work has been exhibited at the Triennale Milan and showcased in Architectural Design magazine.
