Illustrator/painter/designer and embroideress Naomi Avsec launched Spoon in 2004, to create unique pieces for her dream-like embroidery designs.
Spoon marries Naomi's loves of illustration, embroidery and fashion with her skilful style, to create beautiful and inspiring one-off designs. Each piece is individual, embroidered freehand without an outline, (draws with the sewing machine) Naomi allows her imagination to shape each piece with recurring themes including animals, dance, love and sex. Naomi's designs have an energy and personality rare to fashion.
Naomi's designs grace a range of wearable and versatile, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hooded tops, skirts, scarves, ties and children's and babies clothes. Alternatively you could always supply your favourite garment and let her do her magic on it! She currently sells her work through Par Ici in Twickenham and Nepenthes in Tokyo. Naomi is very happy to work on private commissions.
Since graduating as an illustrator from Chelsea School of Art, Naomi has held many solo and group exhibitions around the country and abroad, and has sold her paintings through Harvey Nichols, as well as private commissions.
