Who is …
Serena Park is a new graduate from Central Saint Martins
and since 2008 she has exhibited her works internationally in Munich, Amsterdam and London.
She won several competitions during her college year and the actual pieces are being sold
on the Cool diamond website and in the V & A museum shop.
What is the inspiration behind your work?
The inspiration of her work is about the harmonisation between contrasts -
a harmony between the different materials of glass, gemstones, precious metal, and also the attunement of Nature with the human body.Furthermore, the contrasting materials of glass and metal represent the two sides of human beings- their fragility and their tenacity.
Your favourite material is…
My favourite materials are silver, gold and glass.
Glass was one of the precious materials until even few centuries ago. And I like the various colour range of glass which you can't really find from metals. But all of them can be recycled and made into a new form.
Why am I the one to watch?
I am a passionate and also delicate designer who tries to create new jewellery.
Details about the collections you will be exhibiting at Brilliance…
It will be new Jewellery with different materials and new shape.
I will show my early pieces from my early work, and also bring a totally new collection and scale further developed by new techniques.
What does the future hold?
I plan to make bigger scale works such as perfume bottles...
