Sandy Segal has been a ceramicist for more than 25 years. All of her work is hand built in a coarse, white stoneware and decorated with slips, glazes and body stains. She loves clay as a material and attempts to retain that earthy quality in her finished pieces.

Her current work includes: still life pieces, which attempt to make the 3-dimensional appear to be 2-dimensional; 3-dimensional jigsaws with some in boxes; slab vessels influenced by ancient pottery cultures; large coiled vessels and small boxes. She is also influenced by Barnett Newman, Ellsworth Kelly and Giorgio Morandi.

Sandy has exhibited in a number of galleries in London and elsewhere in England. The pre-eminent sculpture gallery owner Denis Alwin Davis specially commissioned her to make pieces for the Alwin Gallery. She has also been selected as an external exhibitor at the Clerkenwell Green Association's Open Studios and for the Hidden Art Shop. Her work has appeared as a cover feature on the London Potter's Newsletter.
