Sally Weatherill designs and produces woven fabrics for scarves, ties, cushions, handbags and wall pieces.
Sally’s hand woven range is distinctive in its use of rich colour and textural interest; her fascination with the fabric selvedge has led her to create ruffled scarves and irregularly pleated ones that are ‘nipped in’ at regular intervals.
Often directly inspired by the yarns themselves, Sally’s work is the result of an exploration of yarn properties, a love of colour and much experimentation. Sally has recently launched a jacquard woven range of work in which she continues to explore themes of pleating and ruffling, while adding new elements inspired by optical art.
