By re-thinking the process of hand-knitting Ruth Cross creates collections of work from garments and accessories to interiors, lighting, one-off and bespoke projects. Each piece conjures a feeling of history yet their simple silhouettes are unmistakably modern. Inspiration is drawn from organic forms which are translated into sharp & striking pieces. Their allure lies in the detail, the quality of the materials and the knowledge of how much care has gone into making them. Everything is hand-crafted from knitting to finishing, using British Knitters and the finest lambswool and cotton from Scotland and England ( the company is dedicated to supporting British industry). This process is time consuming and results in only a limited number ever being produced.

Ruth Cross was started in late 2004 by Ruth Bridgeman, after she graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in Fashion Textile Design with Business Studies (specialising in Knit). In addition to her fashion & accessory collections Ruth aims to remain loyal to her craft roots and enjoys commissions and collaborations which allow her to explore design possibilities within diverse situations.
