Jewellery
I design and make precious jewellery to commission - from wedding and engagement rings to necklaces and earrings in Platinum, 18ct gold or silver. I can also remodel old jewellery into a new design.
Engraving
I am a specialist hand engraver. I undertake commissions to engrave Items of jewellery and silverware with inscriptions (for example, to commemorate an event such as a christening or anniversary). I do traditional Heraldic engraving such as jewellery inscribed with a family crest or coat-of-arms. I also undertake restoration work on antiques.
Design
I am inspired by both the urban environment in which I live and by natural forms such as feathers and leaves - which lend themselves to engraving. I am always building on my store of photographic images of architectural ironwork, gates and the like - anything that has a shape or pattern that might be translated into jewellery. I am fascinated by how man- made structures are used to cage people in or keep them out of buildings and spaces. I aim to explore the themes of freedom and capture in my work, but tend to design with the form, shape and pattern in mind, rather than symbolism and meaning.
