During my annual visits to India I individually handpick a selection of beautiful unique gemstones. India is a huge source of inspiration for me and I continue to be influenced by its vibrancy, colour and chaos.
I am fascinated by the beauty of crystals and their natural structural formations; inspired by these natural forms I have produced a collection of work sympathetic to these structures. This work exists alongside other designs which combine simple shapes and colours using precious faceted stones set in gold or silver; these are influenced by the art, fashion and architecture of the 1920’s and 1930’s.
What characterises my work is the use of precious stones, in both raw and faceted forms, the innovative settings and playful strong sculptural shapes. I love to work with the malleable qualities of silver using techniques such as forging and raising as well as delicate multiple linking and layering in gold and silver wire.
I have worked as a healer for many years and am intrigued by and sensitive to the healing qualities of gemstones and crystals. I can consult my clients (women and men) on which stones would be the most beneficial for them to wear - and enjoy!
You can visit my studio in Islington to view my work by appointment.
