What is the inspiration behind your work?
The delicate forms and textures of sea creatures and microscopic organisms. I hand carve coral-like shapes and structures and then add hidden pearls and stones like little underwater secrets.
Your favourite material is...
Gold, no question! It is a gorgeous, sumptous material that is a joy to work with. I only wish it wasn't so expensive!
Why am I the one to watch?
I love what I do, and I think this shines through in the work that I make. I feel very lucky to be able to spend time working with my hands and being creative, especially as I am able to pass this onto others in the form of beautiful jewels that are treasured for years to come.
Details about the collections you will be exhibiting at Brilliance.
This collection is concerned with balance and will explore how pieces sit on the body. I will be showing a range of draping necklaces that hang unexpectedly or off-centre, creating an elegant statement when worn.
What does the future hold?
'Brilliance' marks the launch for this new collection, which will then be exhibited around the UK, Paris and Amsterdam. Please keep an eye on my website: www.rebeccasteiner.co.uk for future updates and news.
