Maria Helena Spector creates and makes bold and dramatic jewellery using a wide variety of gemstones, combining them with sterling and vermeil silver.

She sources and selects from producers worldwide, and will cut, hand polish and finish the stones herself, in some cases forging or melting silver on to the stones.

Her Peruvian culture, Artist’s training and European education influence her uses of colour and shape in unique ways to produce stunningly different ranges of jewellery.

She produces one off or limited edition pieces that she wholesales to fashion retailers and designer galleries or sells directly to clients.  She also takes commissions.

The three featured pieces contain; agates and corals, covered with 24 carat gold leaf; lava beads with sterling silver melted on to them; and black tourmaline with sterling silver forged on to the stones.  All findings are sterling silver.

In 2007, her work has been featured in Tatler, Time Out and Retail Jeweller, as well as on the London Jewellery Exports and British Jewellery Assocation websites.
