Linda Hoetink has an MA in Fine Arts and worked as a painter before exchanging her canvas for silk. She now makes hand-painted and hand-printed scarves, necklaces, cushions, and kimonos. All her work is performed on high quality silk fabrics, such as satin, chiffon, velvet and organza. Each piece is one of a kind.
Her textiles display a strong sense of colour, and her method of painting directly onto the fabric lends a bold, rhythmic quality to her work. “The relationship between pure and applied art has always interested me, Hoetink says, “and in my textiles I try to fuse the two, exploring the tension between the artistic and the decorative.
