Craft Central

Lauren Moriarty designs and manufactures products which explore the potential of pattern, materials and 3-dimensional textiles. Lauren trained as a 3D Textile Designer before completing her MA in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins. She works with a variety of materials, predominantly plastics, rubber and fabrics and uses a range of processes including screen printing, laser cutting, die cutting, machine knitting and sewing to produce her award winning range of interior products.

She uses a combination of industrial processes and craft based techniques and works with manufacturers in the UK for larger production runs of her designs. She supplies a growing number of retail outlets in the UK and abroad as well as welcoming a range of commissioned work.

Lauren has designed for Habitat, Renault, Reebok USA and DKNY. Her work has been featured in many national and international design and lifestyle magazines as well as a selection of publications including the International Design Yearbook.

She has exhibited her work extensively worldwide and highlights of her career so far include being short listed for the Jerwood Prize for Textiles at the Crafts Council Gallery, London and winning the ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ award at Pulse 2006.
