Who is Laura Felicity?
Laura Felicity is a recent graduate from The University of Hertfordshire who specialises in silk screen printed wallpaper and machine stitched ornate plasterwork. Sharing her passion for the beauty of delicacy and precious patterns, she designs and creates bespoke and retail pieces for the home which are produced with modern elegance in mind.
Why does London inspire me?
London is a great inspiration to me and my work. The capital city has many contrasting factors in my opinion; old and new, vintage and modern, beautiful and unattractive, natural and geometric. These are contributions towards why I have a passion for design, and how my designs are influenced by what I see around me.
My Craft London work is…?
My Central London work is based on creating a modern elegance for the home. I am inspired by old buildings and ornate plasterwork, combined with the beauty of floral patterns. This enables me to produce my silk screen printed wallpaper, with layering techniques including flocking and foiling, as well as producing ornate plaster work with machine stitch embedded in the surface.
Why am I the one to watch?
I have a passion for being creative and feel this is reflected within my designs. By combining the use of traditional processes and my love for delicate and intricate beauty within my collection, I have created a range with distinct and unique appeal. This ‘merging’ of the traditional production and modern elegant design, creates something eye catching and dazzling which is not easy to forget.
What does the future hold?
