Who is Katie?
I am a London based Artist in love with textiles. I use fabrics, mixed media and textile techniques to create individual wall hung and installation art works.
I am fanatical about colour and its qualities on different materials.
Why does London inspire me?
I am excited by its intimate nature, people, movement and opportunity, I like the little details and personal touches that you notice out of the corner of your eye.
My Craft London work is…
An installation piece made specifically for this exhibition and my crafty city pigeons.
My inspirations are my surroundings, I like to express the details in everyday life through texture and colour. I mix techniques like appliqué, embroidery, dyeing and surface embellishment.
Why am I the one to watch?
My work is constantly changing, evolving and improving. I am devoted to what I do.
What does the future hold?
In the coming year I am exhibiting in the UK and internationally, securing a dedicated studio space and investing in a new embroidery machine.
Long term I look forward to building a successful creative business.
