Kate Maestri is an architectural glass artist specialising in innovative uses of contemporary stained glass, offering new possibilities for a wide range of spaces. Clean lines, glowing colours and minimal designs are the hallmarks of her sophisticated, site-specific artworks.

Her recent projects include a 200 metre long structural, curved, stained glass balustrade for the concourse of The Sage Music Centre, Gateshead. Current projects include a stained glass wall for Hopkins Architects' new Evelina Children's Hospital in London, and a ten storey glass corner tower for a mixed use development in central London with architects Jestico + Whiles.

As a glass artist her work is most effective when it is fully integrated into a building and its environment. This is achieved by being involved from the buildings conception and collaborating closely with the architect, engineer and client. The artwork is most successful when it becomes a structural part of the building, creating more than just two-dimensional decorative glass. Her aim is to create structural, three-dimensional and sculptural stained glass within architecture.
