Jane Dorner is a ‘mid-career-change artist', coming to glass from very nearly 40 years in publishing. The trigger for change came about as a result of a spinal injury with an inscrutable medical name which led to experimentation with a range of techniques in the search for ideas to express the fragile, yet robust, nature of the human body and psyche.
She has been a student of glass for the last four years, culminating in MA in 3DD (Glass) at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham (2006-8).
Her interest in the painterly qualities of pâte de verre both in large-scale architectural projects and also in the intricacies of jewellery.
