Full Time Studios
Craft Central provides full and part-time studios for crafts people and designer-makers. In addition there is the opportunity to share designers studios which increases capacity and flexibility.
Apart from the central location of studios the additional benefits of being part of Craft Central’s community include:
- Craft Central Network membership, with subsidised business training courses, networking and promotional opportunities
- use of fax, photocopying, laminating and IT facilities including broadband connection
- access to group insurance scheme - public and employers liability, contents, exhibition cover.
Craft Central selects designers for the studios who will benefit from the opportunities on offer, therefore studios are not necessarily allocated on a first come first served basis. Designers can register their interest with Craft Central and when a studio becomes available they will be invited to view it and submit an application at that point.
Craft Central’s studios vary in size, from approximately 100 sq ft to 250 sq ft. They are operated on a monthly licence which covers:
- Building management, maintenance, heating security and insurance of communal areas
- Designated mailbox
- Running water either in or nearby studios.
The licence fees do not include electricity to the unit, public liability insurance which is a mandatory requirement but can be arranged through the group public liability cover, telephone and rubbish collection.
