After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2002 with an MA Silversmithing, Emma-Kate concentrated on establishing her career in London, basing herself in the hub of Clerkenwell. However, her biggest influence stems from being brought up by the sea, in Brighton and the West Indies. In particular, it is the linear qualities of waves which transpire through her fluid forged pieces. Hand forging wire creates a movement and allows each piece to be individually crafted.

She has developed her passion for designing opulent tableware with great emphasis on creating products that exude atmosphere; she confirms “they become a focal point to a dining table or a mantelpiece that instantly sparks off comment?. Entertaining is a key influence for Emma-Kate’s work, whether it is an intimate affair or an elaborate dinner. The products emanate luxury with the quality of materials, combining hand forged sterling silver with unusual exotic woods, natural horn or acrylic. Her work is highly functional yet aesthetically beautiful and evidently innovative.
