Who is....
Daisy Choi is a jewellery artist-designer, skilled at designing with precious metals, gemstones, porcelain and ceramics. She set up Day C in 2004 and based at her jewellery studio in London, UK. Daisy's background in 2D and 3D design is reflected in her pieces. These explore sculptural forms whilst retaining a graphic feel.
Since graduating from Middlesex University in Visual Communication Design and 3D Design (ceramics, jewellery), she has worked in the design industry for many years - both in Hong Kong and the UK. Her work has been shown in a number of group and solo art exhibitions in Hong Kong, Australia and the UK. Recently, she completed an MA at Camberwell College of Arts.
Daisy has exhibited at numerous high profile fairs including: IJL ( International Jewellery London) and Origin Craft Fair in London; Inhorgenta Europe in Munich; ‘Kara’ in Paris; New York International Gift Fair and ‘Sieraad’ International Jewellery fair in Amsterdam.
Having sold through leading department stores in London ( Harrods and Selfridges & Co.), currently Day C jewellery is available in individual shops, galleries and museum shops in the UK and USA, such as Museum of Art and Design, New York and Santa Monica Museum of Art gift shop..etc.
What is the inspiration behind her work?
Her work is based on the concept ‘wearing a thought’. It aims to be stylish and humorous – playful, yet thoughtful and meaningful. The designs combine artistic expression with functional wearability.
The new collections are ‘Stone Magic’ and ‘Best Before’. These collections combine silver, 24 carat gold-plated silver, oxidised silver and porcelain. Gems and letter imprints are also featured.
