Carol Zilla is a designer-maker of finely handcrafted jewellery in silver and gold. Her designs are inspired by the countryside and coastline of England and Scotland where she spent much of her childhood. Carol Zilla’s current collections use simple, archetypal shapes - such as fish, flowers, doves and hearts – which are combined to create fresh, modern pieces of jewellery with an idealistic, romantic twist.
Employing traditional silversmithing techniques, much of Carol Zilla’s work is hammered and finely polished with softened edges to give an organic ‘sea-worn’ feel. She also uses gemstones in her designs, either strung or in cabochon settings.
Carol Zilla works from a small workshop in Walthamstow and makes a limited number of each of her designs which are sold as exclusive pieces. She also produces work on commission.
