BSC DESIGN was established in the heart ofClerkenwell in 1997 by the Designer-maker Goldsmith &Silversmith, Beaulagh Chapman-Brooks, who received an MA Degree from the Royal College of Art in 1995.
Inspired by natural forms and notions of timelessness,Beaulagh can offer a wide range of artworks andpersonal pieces through her studio practice BSCDESIGN. Collections of beautiful Jewellery, stunningSilversmithing pieces, through to aestheticallypleasing sculptural forms. All areas have a commontheme of ideals, which are evident from initialconception through to eternal existence, heightened byforms, which appear both spontaneous and intriguing.
Ideas and designs are explored through precious metalsusing many innovative and specialised techniques,often used in harmony with other processes and naturalmaterials to create pieces with a timeless appeal. Theaesthetics of the works are based on simple lines,sensuous curves and geometric balance, and always seekto explore the full potential of the materials beingused. Many designs are produced as small batch works,whilst others are bespoke commissions.
Beaulagh is a Course Leader at London MetropolitanUniversity and previously an Associate Lecturer atCentral St. Martins College of Art. In addition towhich she is currently undertaking a Research Degreeexploring and advancing innovative metal deformationtechniques.
The studio has relocated to premises in South London.Goods can be purchased through current outlets (pleasecontact for details) or direct from the South Londonstudio. Private clients and commissions are alsoregularly undertaken.
