"It all started with a 1980's customized sweat shirt. My parents refused to buy me clothes to cut up, so I went to a local fabric shop, bought what I needed, made a sweat shirt and customized it. A few of my friends saw how different mine was and asked me to make one for them. After that I was hooked. It went from sweat shirts to ball gowns." Denise Mahmud, designer and company founder.
