Who is Ana?
I am silversmith based in London who has a passion for designing and making sculptural pieces of silverware.
Why does London inspire me?
What mainly inspires me is its visual landscape. I am captured by the eclectic architectural views and scenes that this city offers as well as the excellent facelift that some of the old buildings and power station have had.
My Craft London work is...
My work explores a variety of scales and materials; I have produced and designed for this exhibition a few pieces which incorporate distinctive asymmetrical angles, clean lines and geometrical forms to produce distinctive shapes.
The simplistic use of ornament in my pieces is normally created by the use of colourful Perspex, wood or the combination of different metals.
Usually the large scale work I do is raised by hand while I tend to use folding techniques to create small pieces.
Why am I the one to watch?
I enjoy making objects that are practical and functional. I am keen and committed to develop new ideas and designs by using traditional techniques.
What does the future hold?
I am enthusiastic to raise pieces of metal by hand; I would like to focus more on large scale pieces in the future.
