What is the inspiration behind your work?
Inspired by sentimental jewellery of the Victorian and Georgian eras, I use the photographed characters from vintage postcards to make pieces of jewellery with a nostalgic narrative.
My favourite material is..
Vintage postcards: In using images, motifs and hand written messages from vintage postcards in my jewellery, I hope to reflect the romantic sentiment with which they were originally sent.
Why am I the one to watch?
I am currently exhibiting in a number of galleries across the country and hope to expand on this as well as taking part in more jewellery and craft shows. I am also working on a new range of jewellery building on my present collection, which will continue to reflect a vintage aesthetic.
Details about the collections you will be exhibiting at Brilliance…
I will be showing a collection of my jewellery incorporating vintage postcards, sometimes setting the images and writing behind stones and glass to include them as precious elements, and sometimes using photo-etching to create the suggestion of a contemporary cameo.
