Amanda established her jewellery business in 1998 shortly after graduating from The Royal College Of Art in London. The studio was originally situated in the heart of London's jewellery quarter but was relocated to the Cathedral City of Lincoln in 2003. The first retail shop 'Chica Boutiqua' was opened on the premises in 2005. This sells Amanda's jewellery alongside other jewellery and handbag designers.
Amanda's love of nature and all things cute and small is apparent in the jewellery designs. Birds, flamingos, houses, leopards and flowers, to name but a few, have all been miniaturised and turned into silver. By combining the different pieces with semi-precious stones, scenes are created and miniature stories unfold. The jewellery's aim is to spread a little happiness but also be stylish and distinctive items of jewellery. Amanda also creates larger pieces in limited editions for special exhibitions and galleries. These items of jewellery use the same figurative themes but involve complex structures that encase large synthetic stones.
Amanda has exhibited at Chelsea Crafts Fair, Inhorgenta, Munich and the New York Gift Fair. She also shows at 'Premiere Classe' in Paris twice a year. The jewellery is available in shops, boutiques and galleries across the UK and in Paris, Spain, Holland, USA, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. All the jewellery is also available online at www.amandacoleman.co.uk.
