My inspiration is the debris on the beach, the waste plot behind the corrugated iron fence and the back of the kitchen drawer.
I originally trained in furniture design at the RCA. I now design usable objects with longevity in mind. I also use photographic and computer manipulated imagery to create decoration with a strong graphic quality and a modern sensibility.
My book, 'Inspirational Objects - a visual dictionary of simple elegant forms', was published in 2005; and this was followed by an exhibition “Inspirational Objects – Nature as Designer”
I am currently collaborating with Christiane Kersten on a project for Royal Doulton to update their traditional Flambé ware.
I will be showing new work at Craft Central next January which will be inspired by the Wellcome Collection and funded by the Reflect Forward Award.
