Alex R creates glass which is opulent and seductive. She specialises in contemporary glass panels, lightboxes and vessels made to commission for both public and private clients. From sumptuous fused glass bowls to large scale installations of glittering glass, intricate surfaces are the signature style of her work.
Alex has gone from strength to strength since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1995, winning the Stevens Competition for Architectural Glass Design and undertaking a large commission for University College Hospital. Last year her work was selected for the prestigious Glass Biennale, while commissioned work has been shortlisted for the Art and Work Awards and recently won two categories in the Pearson’s Prize (Best Glass in Architectural Application, Best Glass in Interiors).
